Recaps and Updates

I am not sure where to begin to try and catch up. The easiest start is by saying thank you to everyone that has been there to volunteer, donate and support me.

Trina is of course the obvious one without a doubt. The sacrifices she has made and continues to make which are not only monetarily but hugely the mental ones putting up with me and the unknown at every turn.

Those that helped with the benefit are more than I can remember but for sure can recognize Sherra, Crystal, Tiff, Tim & Brenda, Marissa, Melissa & Tim, Skye, Keagan, LaDonna, Amanda, Leah Z and some I didn’t even know about so forgive me for not acknowledging.

It was a huge success because of everyone that volunteered but also those that donated items for the silent auction along with those that bought the silent auction items and participated in the 50/50. Thanks to Butch for donating his portion of the winnings from the 50/50 back to the benefit. With those things along with direct donations (I didn’t know how to respond to that) there was just over $2,000 which I used to pay on the medical bills I have accumulated. Specifically I was able to pay the final payment from the first biopsy done locally along with the original urologist bill. My local doctor bill. Plus money toward my multiple Mayo bills. (The anesthesiologist and other charges are separate from the general Mayo bill) My appointments are all out of network so I get to pay $50 for all my 15 minutes appointments for my co-pay for the follow ups I just had. So after I cashed out the 401k and paid what I could with that everyone’s contributions have helped knock down my balance after insurance to under $8,000. Of course insurance starts again at the first of the year before I have to do about $25,000 worth of radiation for next year!

There was a glitch in the accounting of meals at Sickies may not have been credited to the benefit from the rewards cards as I’ve been told that the amount they came up with was $200. I’ll consider that toward the gas and hotel from Mayo visit last week.

I can’t thank everyone enough that has donated their time, money, and effort.
